SEN SWIMMING Lessons
Swimming lessons for children with additional needs
Swimming can be transformative for children who experience the world a little differently. For some swimmers, busy pools, loud environments or fast-paced group lessons can feel overwhelming. Others simply need more time, patience, and reassurance to feel safe in the water. At GetSetSwim, our expert coaches create calm, supportive lessons where children with additional needs can build water confidence and swim at their own pace.
30% off SEN Swimming Lessons
To help families access specialist support, we offer 30% off 1:1 and 2:1 lessons during quieter off-peak times (weekdays before 3PM or after 6PM). Our experienced instructors trained in SEN support and water safety will conduct an individual risk assessment in your child’s first lesson. Spaces are subject to availability at each of our clubs and only children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), or a verified medical note from a relevant clinician will be eligible for this offer.

How swimming can benefit your child
The water offers something unique for many children with additional needs.
Swimming can help with:
Confidence and independence
Coordination and body awareness
Calming sensory input
Focus and emotional regulation
Essential water safety skills
Parents tell us the pool becomes a place where their child feels relaxed, capable, and proud of what they can achieve.
A calmer way to learn
Children benefit from:
- Warm, private pools without crowds
- Small class sizes
- Clear, consistent lesson routines
- Teachers in the water with them
- Progress at their own pace
Sometimes the biggest step is simply feeling safe enough to float, splash, or put their face in the water – and we celebrate those moments.
Lesson options
Depending on your child’s needs, we may recommend:
1:1 Private Lessons
Fully personalised sessions for swimmers who benefit from quiet, focused support.
2:1 Lessons
A great option for siblings or friends who feel more confident learning together.
Small Group Lessons (4:1)
Some children thrive in structured groups where they can learn alongside peers.
